Fusing a frighteningly unshakable rhythm section with
effects heavy post-apocalyptic guitar madness, Louisville, Kentucky's
Your Black Star are taking delay soaked guitar rock back to it's early
1980's roots, while still moving forward both sonically and structurally.
Following the addition of bassist Kevin Ratterman (formerly of Elliott),
Your Black Star battened down the hatches and focused in on their true
calling on their new full length gSound From The Ground.h The band was
formed in winter 2001 by Jeremy Johnson and Andrew Osborn, and since then
have managed to release a full length and two Eps as well as playing hundreds
of shows in the US and touring Japan and Australia. Currently, they are
looking for a US label to release their recently completed album, which
will be released this July on Waver-Waver Records in Japan, and Building
Records in Australia and in October on TV Records in the UK. This March
the group performed a southern tour including a packed showcase at the
2005 South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Additionally,
Your Black Star will complete a six week tour of America, Japan, Australia
and New Zealand this summer in support of gSound From The Groundh with
new live bassist Brandon Duggins. Imagine if the Cure's Disintegration
and U2's War grew up listening to Fugazi and Rodan. Imagine the dirty
pop splendor of the Jesus and Mary Chain filtered through years of pristine
indie rock experience. Through swirling guitars, passionate vocals, rumbling
bass and relentless drumming, Your Black Star bring home the music you've
been waiting to hear. A true beacon in the darkness.
